The Unique Advantages of Eco WPC Products

The Unique Advantages of Eco WPC Products

Eco WPC products are products made from a new type of material composed of biomass materials and thermoplastic plastics. The biomass materials in eco WPC products include wood flour, wheat straw, rice husk, hemp, etc. The thermoplastic plastics can be selected based on different uses, such as polyethylene (PE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polypropylene (PP), and other materials.

Eco WPC Products and Wood Products

From the comparison between WPC composite materials of eco WPC products and wood, the finished products of WPC composite materials look and feel very similar to wood, and they have the same processing and construction performance as wood. The density of eco WPC products is between 600~1000kg/m3, varying according to the amount of wood fiber filler and the foaming rate, generally around 600~800kg/m3, which is very close to wood. The moisture content is about 2%, while the moisture content of wood is between 12%~13%. Compared with raw wood, eco WPC products have better water and corrosion resistance and do not have natural defects of wood, such as cracking, warping, knots, and noticeable color differences. Additionally, apart from mechanical and physicochemical damage, wooden doors and windows also have a fatal weakness - pest damage, such as termites and borers. Eco WPC products contain various chemical agents that can resist pests. Furthermore, the cross-sectional design of eco WPC products is flexible and can be designed for highly decorative structures and various functional structures. In contrast, wooden products are often limited by processing methods, making it challenging to achieve many decorative effects. It is clear that these advantages make eco WPC products superior to wood products.

Eco WPC Products and Ordinary Plastic Profiles

Comparing eco WPC products with ordinary plastic profiles, WPC composite materials have most of the advantages of ordinary plastic profiles, such as flame retardancy and anti-aging. At the same time, they also have other advantages that ordinary plastic profiles cannot replace, such as color, texture, light weight, and quality performance. They can be nailed, drilled, sawn, planed, painted, glued, etc. However, the welding performance of eco WPC products is relatively poor and is generally not suitable for welding. Therefore, the assembly of doors and windows must use screw connections, which is a significant disadvantage. Nevertheless, using eco WPC products allows for on-site construction, providing convenience for the transportation and installation of doors and windows, somewhat compensating for this shortcoming. From the above two sets of comparisons, we can see that eco WPC products possess most of the properties of both wood and plastic, integrating their main features while having unique functionalities. Most importantly, using eco WPC products can significantly save energy, reduce the consumption of non-renewable resources, and maintain the balance of the natural ecosystem.

Application Prospects of Eco WPC Products

Eco WPC products have advantages that are incomparable to plastic profiles and wood, being energy-saving and environmentally friendly, and are bound to have broad application prospects. With the further improvement of WPC composite eco WPC products production technology and the widespread promotion of production processes, WPC composite profiles are bound to gradually replace plastic and wood products, becoming a new star in the architectural decoration market.
